Sunday 20th April 2003 - This evening just before the sun went down the female came into the box for the first time to roost! I have been watching and every so often she will wake up and move about and groom herself and then fall back to sleep. The temp to night is around 10c
Monday 5th May 2003 - There are now 9 eggs in the blue tit box and Mum has now started to sit on them. It should not be that long till they hatch now. With really nice warm weather it looks good for them at the moment

Friday 16th May 2003 - Two days ago the blue tits eggs hatched Mum was sitting on them all day
yesterday keeping them nice and warm. Dad has been very busy with feed Mum and also the babies. It very hard at the moment to see how many of them there are but as they get bigger they should be more visible. More updates soon....
Monday 19th May 2003 - Over the last few days the chicks have grown and grown it amazes me every year at how fast they grow! Mum and Dad have been very busy with getting food for all of the chicks.
I have been doing my bit of help and putting food near the nest box which seems to be of a lot of help to them. The weather at the moment if very unsettled with rain and strong winds. It looks like this unsettled weather will be with us for the rest of the week.
Tuesday 20th Mar 2003 - Tragedy Strikes in box2!!!!
When I came back from college as I was going into the door and I saw loads of the nesting materials hanging out of the entrance hole! With this I went in side and had a look at the picture on the TV screen to find that the whole nest had been vandalised by an intruder, I can only think it will be a squirrel as I do not think a cat can get into the nest box.
Anyway I saw 5 of the chicks still in the box but they were not moving at all. I brought them inside and put them somewhere nice and warm just in case they were alive. Very much to my surprise they started to move so I took them to the RSPCA and they did not hold a lot of hope for them. I will keep you posted when I hear something. I will leave you with the pictures of this tragedy! Click here to look.

I am sorry to say that the birds did not live. A Few days after this all happen I phoned the R.S.P.C.A and they told me that they had all died in the night.
