Tuesday 7th Febuary 2006 - This evening when I came home from work I turned on my camera and I saw a blue tit roosting in the box. This is the first time I have seen any bird in my new bird box.

The quietly of the image is not too good due to the dark evening. With this new camera I have I can only see images in the day time as it’s a color camera which need white light, in this case the sun. But we are not really missing anything much at night as they are sleeping. I will update this page next when nesting starts. This should not be to far away!

Wednesday 8th March 2006 - Well today it’s around 5c it’s wet and windy, I have had a few visits to the box so far today. When the weather becomes more like spring I hope to see more action going on. As always I will keep you all posted.

Wednesday 22th March 2006 - Early this morning I tuned on my camera to see a grate tit in the box. This did kind of surprise me as the box is for blue tits, Oh well….I have not seen many visits to the box over the last few weeks I think this is due to the weather becoming colder ones more. It would seem winter has not quite left England.

Saturday 25th March 2006 - Today around 12: pm I had a blue tit having a look around in the bird box this is the first time for a while I have seen any birds in the box. Today the weather seems to have warmed up a little and the birds are taking full advantage of this warm spell.

Saturday 25th March 2006 - Today the blue tit which I believe to be the female has been in and out all morning. She even bought in some grass as a test piece. Over the next few days I think it will be much of the same. In and out of the box just to get a feel for it.

The weather today has been very mild around 10c, With strong winds.

Wednesday 5th April 2006 - It’s been a very warm nice spring day today and the blue tits have been in and out of the box all day. I hope it will not be too long until they start to nest. As you can see they are still bring in test pieces in.

Friday 7th April 2006 - This morning Mum has been in and out bringing in little bits of nesting into the box. Messing about with them and sometimes tacking them out.

I am not sure why they do this but it happens every year! Its around 10c outside at the moment,, Yesterdays it got up to 12c. At night the tepm is dropping to around 1c.

Friday 12th April 2006 - While at work today I was watching the live feed from inside the bird box and this morning around 10pm there were many visits from Dad. I believe he is trying still to attack a mate for this year! I have been talking with other people with bird box cameras and it looks like my blue tit is not the only one still looking for a mate. Looking at other years in my older boxes nesting did not really stat till late April so still plenty of time.

Friday 15th April 2006 - Over the last few days the weather has been getting that little bit warmer and the blue tits have been in and out of the best box all day!

They are slowly making some progress on nest building. Little by little but they are getting there.I am not sure if they are testing it still or if full building has begun.?!? More updates soon

Friday 19th April 2006 - As you can see from the pictures they are getting on very well with nest building! I don’t think it will be much longer until it’s completed.

If you have been watching the live cam in the box you would have seen them going in and out all day long. The weather has been very good the last few days not loads of sun but very mild. More updates soon.

Wednesday 26th April 2006 - First off I would like to say sorry for the delay in getting this update on the site. I have been having a problem with the server which has been know been fixed. As you can see from the pictures the blue tits have been working very hard in getting there nest ready.

Today I turned on the camera and saw the very first egg! What normally happens Mum will lay one egg a day. But how many will she lay? Well time will tell. I will keep you posted. The weather today has been lovely with blue skies and temps around 19c! Its almost as if the birds new it was coming.
