Monday 1st May 2006 - Over the last few days it has been very hard to see how many eggs the blue tits have had. But I have just come home from work and saw six eggs very clearly in the nest. Mum and Dad don’t spend too much time in the box at the moment. But as soon as they have laid all the eggs for this year that’s when you will see more of them.

Friday 4th May 2006 -

It’s a lovely warm day today in Somerset. Its almost seems like it’s a shame that the birds are in the box. We are up two 10 eggs. Mum will pop in from time to time in the day to make sure everything is in order. I don’t think incubation has started just yet. I think there are more eggs to come. When she has laid all the eggs then she will sit very tight on the nest with Dad popping in to give here food. (How thought full)

Monday 7th May 2006 - Well I think I can safely say that Mum has started incubation. This year she has a max of 10 eggs. She is sitting very tight on them only leavening the nest for the call of nature. Dad will pop in as well to feed Mum. It’s just a waiting game until hatch day! It’s around a few weeks. I am sure like myself you can’t wait till hatch day. As always I will keep you posted! Do keep your eye on the live web cam.

Sunday 28th May 2006 - Sunday 28th May 2006 - Due to work I have not been able to update this page for the last few weeks. I will try and get some new image up with in a few days. I am pleased to say we have got little chicks in the nest all feeding and doing really well. They grow so fast. More updates, coming your way really soon.

Wednesday 31st May 2006 -Well the last few weeks the live web cam in the bird box has been off line, but I am pleased to say its all back in action. Mum and Dad have really got there hands full looking after these little ones. I can’t believe in such a short space of time how much they have grown. The weather today has been lovely with temps around 20c with a very light southerly wind.

Saturday 3rdt June 2006 – The last few days, it have not been good four our blue tits. I fear Mum has been killed as I have not seen any sine of her with only Dad coming into the box to feed the chicks. I also don’t think there is much food about for them either.

This has taken its toll on the little ones with 3 of them sadly dieing. This morning we had 5 chicks in the box. At around midday 3 of them fledged. I did think that they were a little young but they went anyway! I think that hunger got the better of them so they left to find food.

At the moment its 7:00pm and in the box we have 2 left with Dad still coming into feed them and trying to encourage them out of the box with food. I will keep you all updated.

Sunday 4th June 2006 – This morning when I looked at the bird box camera I could still see the 2 left were not looking to good. So for more advice I called my local R.S.P.C.A and they looked at the live web cam on the site and they told me to bring them in to them. These are the last few shots of them inside the box before I took them out.

After I took them out of the box I drove to the R.S.P.C.A were I met Paul who is a very good friend of mine. As soon as he got them he started to feed them and they were very please for the meal!

I have left them with Paul and I wait to here how they get on. I will keep you all updated on my forum room. I will leave you with the last few pictures of this years nesting.

I hope to see you all next year when we do it all over, with the LIVE web cams and updates. See you all in spring 2007
